Goddess wisdom drawn from the ages can be quite informative when we set out to live authentically and from a position of compassion and inspiration. But first, we have to understand what this might mean for us and learn to direct ourselves toward particular behaviors.
As you contemplate your journey for this year, allow me to offer a curated perspective from three goddesses — Kuan Yin, Athena and Aphrodite — that may help spark some ideas for you.
Compassion and Self-Love
In order to have more love and compassion, Goddess Kuan Yin would suggest that you develop a routine practice of self-reflection and introspection through meditation or whatever ways put you in touch with your connection to your divine source or your highest self.
This requires you to examine your deepest desires, values and beliefs, something many of us typically do around this time of year.
Behavior that is kind, understanding and forgiving toward ourselves and others isn’t always as automatic as we might like, especially in difficult circumstances. Still, it could become more so if we had this intention and were willing to commit to practicing it.
Being receptive to new experiences and perspectives while also living and leading with an open heart and mind can help you learn and grow in ways that move you exponentially forward in the best possible direction.
Focused, Flexible and Proactive
Goddess Athena would have you take a strategic approach to resolving any pressing problems you might be having by first identifying the root causes and then coming up with a plan of small action steps that address the issue from its source.
Looking at the source may not come easily or instantly to mind unless you give this pause and the time to study it.
It is important to remain flexible and adjust your approach as needed when any new information or changing circumstances arise.
Ultimately, the key to prioritizing and simplifying tasks is to remain focused and committed to your intentions, dreams, and goals. Do write them down!
When you adopt a proactive mindset and take consistent action no matter how small, you can overcome life challenges and get the results you want.
Goddess Aphrodite tells you to keep exploring your passions and interests and then make a conscious effort to incorporate these activities into your daily life. Express yourself in a creative and authentic way through activities such as writing, painting, singing or dancing, to name a few.
By engaging in these activities regularly, you can tap into your inner being and develop a greater sense of fulfillment and purpose.
It is equally important to have self-care practices firmly in place that support your mental, emotional and physical sense of well-being. Exercise, meditation, journaling or spending time in nature can help keep you grounded and more energized.
The art of happiness isn’t that complicated, but it involves all these kinds of behaviors. We can create a greater sense of joy, fulfillment and well-being by adopting them and listening to the wisdom of these and other Goddesses, including your own inner wisdom.
Wishing you the greatest happiness, Goddess,
