The Beauty of Clean

Spring is just around the corner, and you know what that means … spring cleaning and Goddess cleansing!

I know, I know. That may not sound like a lot of fun to you, but there is a reason why I want to get you excited about doing it. Some people think that detoxing isn’t necessary. After all, that’s what our liver and kidneys do automatically, right? Nope, not adequately.

The truth is we live in a world that is throwing out more and more chemically toxic air, food, and water than our bodies can handle. It reminds me of the scene in “I Love Lucy” when Lucy and Ethel were trying to keep up with the candies coming out on a conveyor belt. They were stashing them in their pockets, stuffing them in their mouths, and then just letting a lot of them go by.

When our livers have too much toxic material to manage, it stuffs it in places, like our fat cells, to hopefully get to later, but a lot of it gets away and into our bloodstream where it doesn’t belong and can also get stashed in our bones and brains, as is often the case with heavy metals.

Lead, mercury, aluminum, arsenic, cadmium, barium, tin, uranium, and so many other toxic materials are finding their way into our bodies every day.

When you think about it, plastic wasn’t around until after World War II. But now it’s everywhere and, although it is convenient, it’s become embedded in our bodies, oceans, wildlife, and is one of the things causing serious trouble for our health and the health of our planet.

So please stop storing food in plastic, stop drinking water from plastic, and stop using products for your skin that are in contact with plastic, at least do this as much as you possibly can.

And I don’t want to even get started talking about synthetic chemicals …

Cleansing Is an Act of Self-Love

The point is we are truly being bombarded and so we need to ease this modern burden to our bodies by routinely and safely detoxing, or “cleansing” as it’s sometimes referred to.

This isn’t a one and done proposition either. It isn’t possible to do one cleanse and remove all that doesn’t belong in your body. It’s a process, and we have to make sure our elimination systems are functioning properly first before we can embark on a detox.

Easier said than done. It involves some education about how, what, and where we are being exposed, and which are the most harmful toxic materials to guard against. Then we can begin making important choices and changes.

It isn’t possible to eradicate every exposure because, as I said, we live in a toxic world. But we can make a difference by at least choosing not to put more toxins into our Goddess bodies.

Spring Is the Perfect Time for Cleansing

This is the season for cleaning and cleansing, but you do want to clear your schedule enough to do so properly. And, dare I say, enjoy the process!

I am going to be leading my Spring Goddess Cleanse April 18 through May 7. I’ll go into more detail about this later in another post here and on social media, but I want you to Save the Date so you can plan for it.

It is so much more fun to cleanse in a group than it is to do it by yourself!

Of course not everyone’s the same and sometimes it’s necessary to customize a cleanse that will work best for you. If you need help with this, or if you want to participate in the next cleanse program, just send me an email at gay@gaydering.com
