Here it is the end of February. The promise of spring is right around the corner. That means it’s time to start planning for your cleanse!

I can hear the groaning, but honestly this is something you should definitely plan into your new year. Winter is really NOT a good time for cleansing, so we have to wait for the warmer season. And that’s almost here.

Cleansing is a commitment, so it’s important to look at your calendar and see where it makes sense to fit this activity in. It could be anywhere after the spring equinox up to late spring or early summer, depending on what’s going on in your life.

I highly recommend doing a cleanse with other people. It’s more fun that way, and the added support makes it easier to adhere to a cleanse schedule.

First, decide how much time you can devote to it. Do you want to cleanse for 7, 10, 21 days? Ideally, I like to do 3 weeks, including one week of pre-cleansing. I’ve written about this extensively and have a program that’s prerecorded with tips, recipes and all the information you need to do this for yourself.

You may or may not decide to purchase herbs and cleansing shakes. (I always do.) But removing caffeine, alcohol, dairy and animal products does your body a HUGE favor and sets you up for success in a big way.

Here are 10 tips for doing a cleanse

Years ago I discovered how helpful cleansing practices are, especially for removing toxic waste buildup. Unfortunately, we live in a toxic world and face daily exposure to heavy metals, harmful chemicals, hormone disrupting agents and pollutants of all kinds. This isn’t getting better (worse actually), so in order to have a halfway functioning immune system nowadays, we must pay attention to our toxic load.

One of the very best ways to strengthen your immune system is to cleanse once or twice each year.
