Warm-Up and Giddy-Up

The Earth is starting to warm up and spring will be here in all her splendor very soon! This will officially be the beginning cycle of the new year. 

Most of us have already been thinking about what new seeds for personal growth we wish to plant and what we want, or intend, to call into our lives. We usually start to do this after the new year celebrations are over in January.

But this time of year is when the Earth’s energy and her giddy-up support is most available for us.

This liminal phase — as we move away from winter and before spring takes hold — is the perfect time to put pen to paper and write down what your plans and dreams are for the new year to come.

Ideally, you will want to articulate your vision before the Spring Equinox arrives in a couple of weeks.

Now is also a good time to make room for new things to come into your life. So, this means cleaning, decluttering, and generally getting rid of all the stuff you don’t need anymore. Can you hear the office, the closets, and the garage beckoning you?

This can be both an inside, mental-emotional process as well as outside, actual dealing with tangible things. Spring cleaning can begin now and cleaning up the porch or yard to get it ready for planting and future time spent outdoors will feel good and nourish your soul.

It’s also the time of year when I like to plan when to do a detoxifying cleanse. (Yes, yes, I know this is not everyone’s favorite activity.)

During the winter it may be too cold. It’s best to wait until the weather is warmer before you embark on any serious cleansing journey. However, you do need to plan for it.

For those who have done the Goddess Cleanse with me before, you know what I’m talking about.

Regardless of what type of cleansing effort you may choose, you are going to want to schedule it to ensure you have enough free time to devote to it properly. (… I’m just sayin’ …)

If you’re not a cleansing type (and not all Goddesses are), then think about incorporating more herbs and green foods into your diet now. Juicing, smoothies, herbal teas, and herbs in general are so good for us.

You might want to start looking at healthy plant-based recipes and give your pantry a little makeover too.

Feel the breeze and notice the change in the air. Spring is coming. Giddy-up!
